The US Tax Code is Highly Progressive

 Contrary to what you hear from Democrats, the US tax system is highly progressive. 

Wealth Gap and Marital Status

There is always much handwringing about the "racial gap" in wealth. It's casually treated as a result of racism. Yet look at this one piece of data. Married households have far greater wealth than single households. Is it racism that makes blacks less likely to live in married households? How? If you want to reduce the "gap", might it not be good social policy to promote marriage and stop glorifying single parents?
