Democrats are right. The Rich are not paying their Fair Share of income taxes. They're paying more than everyone else's share.

1396 US taxpayers collectively paid far more income tax than 70 million Americans who paid the least tax.
And yet the constant drumbeat, "The Rich don't pay their fair share of taxes".
Darn right, it's not a Fair Share.

Two-Thirds of Households are Net Recipients from the Federal Government

Mark Perry recaps the annual “Distribution of Household Income and Federal Taxes, 2013.” from the Congressional Budget Office, which shows that about two-thirds of all households are net recipients from the Federal Government. That is, they receive more in payments from the Federal government than they pay the Federal Government in taxes. At a time when we are asked to ponder what Making America Great Again entails, we might want to ask if  a country is Great when the majority become economically dependent on a much smaller minority.

Tax Day "Fairness" Tidbits

20% of the population pays 94% of the federal income taxes. That means for the other 80%, government programs that might increase current or future taxes have virtually no cost to them. And you wonder why they're so popular.




Over the last 30 years the federal income tax average rate has gone down for 99% of the population. The only group experiencing an increase is the reviled Top 1% .

Time for Olympic Medal Redistribution?

The distribution of medals in the last Olympics looks remarkably like the distribution of income in the United States. There's been endless clamor about how "unfair" the latter is. Maybe the Olympic Committee needs to step in and take medals from the top performing countries like the US and China and redistribute them to countries like India and Indonesia that deserve more? Are the disparities in economic economic achievement totally different than the disparities in athletic achievement?

Capitalism produces income inequality. It simply enriches the privileged few at the expense of the rest of the population. Ask any Korean.
